Theodore Constant

Mr. Constant has held prestigious leadership roles around the world—including the Vienna State Opera, the National Ballet Theatre of Romania, and the Northern California Dance Conservatory. He is the founder and artistic director of Theodore Constant Dance Academy and the TCDA International Ballet Festival, celebrating its 11th anniversary in 2024. Born in Bucharest into a family of musicians, his illustrious performance career has spanned Europe, North America, and Asia, with leading roles in renowned companies and collaborations with legendary choreographers like Béjart, Forsythe, Petit, and Spoerli. As a pedagogue, Mr. Constant is a sought-after guest teacher and competition juror, with students winning top honors at Prix de Lausanne and Youth America Grand Prix—and joining companies such as The Royal Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, and NDT. His choreography and teaching continue to inspire dancers and audiences around the globe.
