HAWKINS SHOWCASE
Students enrolled in dance, musical theater, acrobatics and vocals classes have the opportunity to work with their teachers and choreographers to bring a showpiece to the stage.
The Hawkins Showcase is a collection of shows typically held at the Jill Solberg Performing Arts Center at the conclusion of the school season in mid-June. The shows are a special way for young students to experience a stage performance in front of family and friends. Prior to general public sales, tickets are allocated and available to families. Individual and group photos, as well as performance videos may be offered as well.
The 2023 Hawkins Showcase will encompass multiple shows on June 16th-17th. More details will be found in the calendar as they become available.
Hawkins Performing Companies & Troupes
For the more serious dancer or performer, Hawkins Companies and Troupes combine advanced technique, choreography and time commitment, and offer additional performance opportunities. They have their own audition process, and additional classes dedicated to their artistic development. For the 2022-2023 season, Hawkins will have the following:

Hawkins Classical and Contemporary Ballet Company
Hawkins Contemporary Jazz Company
Hawkins Musical Theatre Company
Tap Troupe
Hip Hop Troupe
Parade Troupe
Auditions are typically held in the Spring for the following season. Auditions for the 2023-2024 season begin in April. Key dates and information can be found on our AUDITION DETAILS page. Interested students or parents are always encouraged to contact the artistic directors regarding the process or performance opportunities.
Pre-Professional Opportunity
While all the companies offer advanced-level training and performances, the Hawkins Contemporary Jazz Company (HCJC) also offers a pre-professional track where dancers have unique opportunities to work outside Hawkins with industry professionals and the Sacramento Contemporary Dance Company (SCDT). The Pre-Professional level has an additional set of audition requirements and is reserved for those who demonstrate technical and artistic competence, as well as an additional commitment.
